OSUACLC’s Annual Spring Dinner

A HUGE Thank You to all attending the OSUACLC Spring Dinner at Mancy's Italian on Thursday, June 16. The staff at Mancy's did a super job and the food and service was great. The Buckeye fellowship was wonderful as was our speaker, Dane Sanzenbacher and his message was heartfelt. Everyone attending had positive comments about this event.

Many Thanks go to our Board members who were so helpful with this dinner. Tommy Roemer, Vice-President, can be proud of his choice of speaker and the responses of our fellow Buckeyes who attended. A big Thank You to Shirley Moser, who organized the Chinese auction as it was a clever idea and we were able to raise about $400.00 for the scholarship fund from the 10 baskets. It was also rewarding to meet and recognize our three scholarship recipients and their parents.

A fun time was had by all. Our next OSUACLC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 9th, 2016 at Claddagh Irish Pub in Franklin Park Mall at 6:00 p.m. Mark your calendar and plan to see us there. We want you.

Latest OSUACLC News

We had a fantastic time at Timbers Bowling Lanes on Friday, April 22. A special Buckeye Thank You goes to the Teifke family who generously allowed us to "Glow" that night. A good time was had by all and we were able to raise over $1000.00 for our scholarship fund.

Happy New Year for 2016!

We are happy to report that TBDBITL Band Concert on November 27, 2015 was outstanding.  Many THANKS go to our Sponsors, the Wood and Lucas County Board Members who gave so much in the planning and management of this event.

The Band’s performance was probably the BEST we have had as reported by many of the audience members.  Special Thanks go to Diane Gannon and Bob Wolford, the co-chairs and the committee members who were such super workers.  We were proud to have Sashem Brey as our Mistress of Ceremonies.  Thanks for doing such a superb job.

Greatest news is that each of the three organizations, the band, Lucas and Wood Counties realized $10,772.71 each.  The Lucas County Alumni Club donated its share to the Robert Momsen Scholarship Fund.

The Band and Football team promptly went up North and polished off TTUN as well as Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl!  Great way for the 2015 Football team to finish the season.

The Ohio State University Alumni Association has established a standard Constitution, a Charter, and Toolkit (website created by university staff under their management).  In the next few months, each club must agree and sign these documents.  These new standards and requirements do impact the individuality that local clubs have had, such as our logo; “Defenders of the Northern Border” will no longer be in a prominent place.  Our current logo as such will no longer be recognized by OSU, so we can no longer use it as it is.  The constitution sets forth committees among other things that our present officers and board cannot manage without more dues paying alumni.   Please click the link, “documents” to see these.   Without additional leadership the club will be dissolved.

We will have the documents; constitution, charter, and toolkit on www.lucasbrutus.com for you to review.   The future of the Lucas County Club is dependent upon current alumni who are members of the Alumni Association in Columbus and members of our local club.  If you are a member of the Alumni Association and want the Lucas County Club to continue to exist, step up now!  We need people who are willing to take on the leadership as several current officers are going to retire this year.
