We are planning on beginning our annual highway clean-up this spring. Please join us on Saturday, May 19, 2012 in cleaning the last two miles of highway RTE. 23 leading to the bad school. We meet in the Tony Packo’s parking lot on Monroe Street, Sylvania, Ohio at 8:30 a.m. and get our assignments and begin at 9:00a.m. Once we have finished we meet back at Tony Packo’s for lunch, Buckeye fellowship and stories. Remember that all volunteers receive a ticket that gives them a chance to win a pair of tickets to the last home football game of the 2012 season, (which will be OSU vs. michigan on November 24, 2012). This game will be our Bowl game for this year…so don’t miss out on the opportunity to win a pair of tickets. Just help us clean up trash! Our Robert Momsen Scholarship Fund has grown to $266,792.00! We continue to work toward increasing our endowment fund and planning events that will encourage that growth.

For a $25.00 family membership you will also receive a 2″ O-H-I-O silhouette so you can display your Buckeye Pride on your window of a car, home, or office. Memberships run from January to December each year.

What an awesome Buckeye Cruise for Cancer !!
In addition to all the celebrity athletes on-board. Dr. Woods was also there. We had quite a surprise on Saturday evening as Kirk Herbstreit took the microphone, he introduced the new head coach, Urban Meyer and Shelly Meyer to the capacity filled auditorium!! Kirk had arranged for them to fly from Hawaii to join our cruise in Nassau, Bahamas. Needless to say it was one of the highlights of the evening and cruise. The other great news was that because of all of the support and generosity, the cruise was able to raise about one million dollars for cancer research! Travel Partners did an outstanding job coordinating everything. We were even able to sell our merchandise( Origami flowers, zipper pulls, O-H-I-O silhouettes) at the Marriott the day before the cruise set sail!

Our next monthly board meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at noon. We meet at Roemer Insurance (3912 Sunforest Court, Toledo, Ohio) in the Conference room, bring your lunch and join us there.
We have established our club “watering hole”, it is Dale’s Bar and Grill. It is located at 322 E. Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. See you there to cheer our Buckeyes on to victory.
